After my recent refund of $40 on my standing mixer, I thought I should give credit where credit is due. The next time you purchase an item from any of the following stores -

Most of the sites listed above have a price protection policy that will refund you the difference should there be a price drop in the product. For example, I was notified last night of the price drop in my standing mixer on Amazon’s website. I acted quickly and Amazon was more than happy to offer the refund on the price difference. Had I waited till today I would have been out of luck since the price has gone back up to my original purchase price. Nico recently brought to my attention that there is legislation in the Texas government to severely restrict the shipping of wine. After a failed attempt last year by legislators to ban out of state wine shipping, they are back it and this time they are raising the stakes. Instead of limiting the ban to out of state shipping, the new bill (“SB 1229″:http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/80R/billtext/pdf/SB01229S.pdf) would ban direct shipping from anyone outside of your county, city, town, or 2 mile radius of the company’s headquarter. This is an obvious attempt by local wine stores and Texas wholesellers to severely limit competition and does not benefit the end consumer.

Visit their “Action Alert”:http://capwiz.com/freegrapes/issues/alert/?alertid=9705841 page to contact their legislator. The site will determine your legislator by your zip and will automatically send a templated fax to their office.

Help protect your right as a consumer and don’t let the Texas legislation restrict competition!

After a recent promo for Scrubs on NBC included the phrase, “final episodes”, I began full search to determine if the vagueness meant the end of the series. I fell on to “Zach Braff’s Blog”:http://www.zachbraff.com/, which stated:

“..I don’t think I’m gonna be able to direct it this summer as I had hoped since I’m due to be back at Scrubs on August 1st. That is- if we come back. NBC has yet to renew us… They have until 5/15, so cross your fingers. Now that I signed up for another year, I got all excited about doing it and then here we are on 4/26 and still no pick-up from the network. These last 4 episodes are REALLY good. So make sure to watch. Hopefully they’re not the end of the whole series, because the season ends with quite a cliffhanger and I think everyone would be pretty pissed if they never got to see the resolution.”
